Social Sanctum

Architectural & Interior Design

Project Brief :

Designed as a second home for an NRI family, this residence balances large-scale hosting with the quiet spirit of a spiritual retreat. The architecture follows a subtractive massing approach, carving courtyards, light wells, and terraces from a solid volume to bring in natural light and openness. The journey through the house begins with a Mandir at the entrance and unfolds through spaces enriched with art and symbolism, eventually leading to the Bethak Courtyard designed for gatherings and celebrations. The upper floor shifts the focus to relaxation, with a central lounge and a passage that separates lively areas from private bedrooms. Forest-themed elements and thoughtful transitions guide the experience from social to serene. The bedrooms are designed as spacious suites with walk-in wardrobes, maintaining a cohesive design language while expressing individual character.
